How to buy fabric wholesale — a plain guide

Buying by the bale is a different craft from buying by the yard. The price is lower per piece, but the decisions are bigger: how much will really sell, how fast, and what your customers will keep coming back for. Every fabric is sold in a unit — a yard, a piece, a bundle or a full bale. Wholesale prices usually start from a minimum quantity, sometimes called a break-quantity. Once you order at or above that amount, the wholesale rate applies automatically when you are signed in to an approved account.

To unlock wholesale pricing, apply for a wholesale account and tell us about your business. Approval is usually quick. Once you are approved, your special prices show automatically whenever you shop, and you never have to ask for a quote on standard lines.

For large or custom orders, you can request a quote and we will price it for you — including delivery. Approved trade customers may also arrange to take stock now and settle later, within an agreed limit. Ask us about terms.

The golden rule: start with a tight, well-chosen range and reorder what moves. It is better to sell out of ten good bolts than to sit on fifty slow ones.
